こんにちは、近所の猫には挨拶をしていくスタイル、Aki です。

今日は漫画を紹介します。"Maus"、邦題は「マウス」です。

1巻、２巻からなり、Aki は洋書のセールでこの本を発見し、セットになっていたものを買いました。この本のことは知ってはいましたが、日本の漫画のタッチになれているため、手を出すことに躊躇していました。ピューリッツァー賞受賞。

ユダヤ系ポーランド人である父親の記録です。

ナチス政権下、ホロコーストの時代を生き抜いた父親に息子がインタビュー。その内容を漫画にしてあります。

ユダヤ人はネズミ、ドイツ人が猫、ポーランド人が豚の顔で描かれています。

ナチス、ホロコーストをテーマにした本の場合、「誰の視点なのか」、「どうやって物語を綴っていくのか」などで類書と違いを生み出すのだと思います。

その意味でこの本が斬新です。

漫画で描かれているため、読むのエネルギーはそれほど必要ありません。

Hi, it's never-forget-to-say-hello-to-a-neighborhood-cat Aki.

Today I review a comic book "Maus". There are 2 volumes and I bought the complete set.

I've never tried any comic books written in English mostly because of the illustration they draw. Those were not much my taste. I didn't disliked it, but I'm too much used to Japanese comics. 

I found this book sold at some discount in a book store, so I instantly leapt into it.

This books is about a Horocaust survivor Vladek Spiegelman (Polish Jew) who experienced countless hardships and also went through suffering time in Auschwitz.

How was the life during the WWII in the Poland? (and how was the life changed?)

How did he managed to survive the Auschwitz?

Worth to read it.
